Course Essentials Grants

The Course Essentials grant is a professional development opportunity for faculty who seek to build new knowledge and skills in pursuit of improving one of their online/hybrid courses. The grant is delivered as a semester-long hybrid program that is individually focused. Recipients will complete an online workshop, attend course quality consultations, and complete course improvement tasks to help them design a course that meets the essential standards of the research-based and education-driven Quality Matters Rubric for Higher Education.
You might be this grant type if:
- You would like to improve the quality of a credit-bearing online or hybrid course.
- You need support to improve an existing course to nationally recognized standards, but need to do it quickly without a lot of frills.
- You seek guidance with course development.
Note: In order to qualify for this grant you must have taken the Applying the Quality Matters Rubric (APPQMR) workshop.
Recipients of this grant will receive $4,000 as well as DELTA support from expert instructional designers and technologists. This grant is best-suited for faculty who are self-starters and do not require media support. This recipient will additionally be asked to complete Quality Matters workshops, complete course improvement tasks according a defined schedule, attend three group and three individual consultation meetings over the course of a semester, and will be expected to work on their course between each meeting.
